The holy lives which have enabled thousands of people to gain or regain faith in God and in the eternal verities of religion.
Swami Vivekananda (1863 - 1902)
Swami Vivekananda was the chief disciple of Sri Ramakrishna and organized the Ramakrishna Order. In 1893 he travelled to the Western world with the bold message of Vedanta when he represented Vedic religion at the Parliament of World’s Religions held in Chicago. His life was dedicated to recasting the ancient wisdom of Vedanta to show it’s practical application in helping humankind to experience God as Truth.
Sri Ramakrishna (1836 - 1886)
Sri Ramakrishna is regarded by millions all over the world as a divine incarnation. His early life was devoted to the practice and testing of spiritual disciplines including those of Hinduism, Christianity, Islam as well as the various subsets of Hinduism. After realizing God in each of those paths, he declared that all faiths, if followed with earnestness, lead to the same final goal.
Sri Sarada Devi (1853 - 1920)
Sri Sarada Devi, also known as the Holy Mother, was the spiritual consort of Sri Ramakrishna and his first disciple. After Sri Ramakrishna’s passing away, Holy Mother carried on his spiritual ministry, guiding and blessing thousands of devotees. Several of her disciples worked in the Vedanta Centres in the West. Her last message was: “My child if you want peace of mind, then do not find fault with others. Learn to make all your own. No one is a stranger my child … the whole world is your own."
